Intel to stop offering Z Atom processors

Intel looks set to cut off ties with its energy efficient Intel Z Atom processors in the near future if they are going to see action in netbooks, although the company will still honor orders already made by netbook heavyweights such as Asustek, Acer and MSI. Intel hopes to make a complete end to the supply of the Z Atom CPUs before the year is over, as this would make their task of defining the netbook and MID segments easier by reserving these chips to see action in MIDs only. It would be interesting to see what happens to current models powered by the Z Atom processor though. What's your take on this situation?
