Concept Device Aims To Help Children Find Answers

Have you ever been in a situation where you want more information on a specific item, but have no way to describe the strange scenario that you just saw to your friend? Kids probably bump into that problem every day, and this concept device could be just what is needed to help them find the answers. The device sports a camera and digital book and allows the child to use it to record the world around them so that they may sit down with a family member later to discuss whatever they saw during the day. The digital book can also be used by parents to leave notes for the child, and it can also double up as a nightlight. If all these cool concepts become a reality in the future, kids of the future sure are a lucky bunch.

Energy Neutral Portable Classroom paves the way for a greener future

What better way to make sure the younger generation understands how important it is to conserve the environment for the betterment of mankind than in a classroom? Drum home the importance by teaching them in an Energy Neutral Portable Classroom - now that’s certainly a thought. This unique classroom was designed by award-winning design firm Anderson Anderson Architecture, where it aims to deliver an optimized educational environment for students and teachers without sacrificing sustainability principals. Basically, it will go about collecting, generating and conserving natural resources such as electrical power, daylight, wind energy and rainwater. A steel frame and steel and rigid foam sandwich panel floor alongside a specially put-together roof system will help maximize insulation and heat reflection. Solar panels on the roof will be able to generate additional juice if required, and since it can be dismantled and transported, this concept if realized, could go a long way in bringing hope and knowledge to the world.

Arctic Drifter science lab gathers data as it travels

They say that a rolling stone gathers no moss, but here is a variation on that proverb - we’re talking about the Arctic Drifter science lab that comes in a large ball form factor, where it will blow across the vast arctic regions of the globe while gathering essential data using its integrated sensors while at it. Thanks to the idea from New York based Studio Les BĂȘtes, the Arctic Drifter will be cushioned by huge inflatable bags which transforms it into a 50-ft diameter ball, protecting the science lab which has been suspended within. Should the boffins inside decide to stop at a particular place, all they need to do is deflate enough bags to form a flat spot, and the bag will remain “anchored″ so to speak. You won’t roll around inside as though you′re zorbing though, as the lab itself has been constructed within a gimbal that helps keep it upright all the time, while a roll cage will ensure the lab remains protected just in case there is a collision. Will it roll over polar bears by accident if this concept actually comes to life?

Scale Z is a scaleable concept, pardon the pun

With some of us looking for a one-size-fits-all solution to many problems these days, how about this conceptual scale known as the Scale Z to fit just about any need? It is not only able to accommodate a tiny luggage bag, but will work with your four legged friend (from toy breeds to giant ones) as well as a really, really large piece of luggage. Of course, don′t forget that it is able to take readings of your body weight as well, after all, it is meant to function as a bathroom-friendly device too. Not only that, it is able to read and store various information such as weight and BMI, sending the latest results to your computer through a Wi-Fi connection. Neat looking, but it might just be another device that adds up to your monthly power bill at the end of each month.

Transparent Universal Translator

Traveling to different countries often brings up the issue of the language barrier, but with technology moving at the pace it is, perhaps such issues will be a thing of the past. The Universal Translator concept looks like a transparent piece of plastic, but it’s capable of identifying objects. In Window Mode, users will be able to point it in the direction of an object, and a wiki of information provided by the community will be provided. The Text Mode allows users to use it in a similar fashion, but it’s geared towards text, and easily translates signs, papers, or any other type of material via a collective knowledge base. Finally, Speech Mode allows it to translate the spoken word in real time, and it can even allow you to speak into it, and have the translated content read out for you.

Concept: Hand Sync To Help Train Paralyzed Limbs

Hand Sync To Help Train Paralyzed Limbs

Some folks who suffer from stroke lose control over a portion of their body and have to rely on others for movement, and aside from that, physiotherapy is also necessary. The Hand Sync concept system is designed to help folks who have trouble recovering from stroke. The concept allows the user to wear the mechanical equipment on both hands, allowing the good hand to transfer the power or movement to the paralyzed hand. This means that when the patient moves one finger on the healthy hand, it generates enough power to move the same finger on the paralyzed hand, hence the “sync″ in the concept’s name. It doesn’t look like the most elegant solution, but it’s a good way to get things started, and it’s moving in the right direction.

Concept: Projector Camera Smiley Face

Projector Camera Smiley Face

While Nikon’s recently announced 󊹼pj projector camera is pretty cool, you have to admit this Projector Camera Smiley Face concept has the jump on Nikon’s camera in terms of cuteness. The lenses for the projector and the camera are used to form the eyes of this device, while the microphone slit is positioned at its smiling mouth. Granted Nikon’s camera already does what this design aims to do, but the concept itself is really cute, and who knows, perhaps Nikon will decide to relocate the position of its lens and microphone on its next-generation projector camera to match this design.

Philips Fluid Smartphone With Flexible OLED Display

Flexible OLED displays seem to be allowing designers to exercise their imagination more when designing future phones, and that was probably the case with the Fluid smartphone concept design that was designed for Philips. The phone looks like a slim strap that can be wrapped around the wrist to become a bracelet for the fashion conscious, while still maintaining proper functionality thanks to the large flexible OLED display. Perhaps we’ll all be sporting such bracelets/phones in the future.

iSketch Concept Turns Your iPad Into A Drawing Tablet

The iPad might look like a very fancy drawing tablet, but the curved back of the device doesn′t make it ideal for your desk, and that’s where the iSketch concept comes in. The iSketch offers a snug-fitting protective support for the device, and also doubles up as a charger to keep the device juiced. It’s designed to offer a sketch pen that is capable of allowing you to draw on the iPad instead of using your finger. Would you want such a product?

Rejuven8 Ensures That Nutrients From Your Food Aren't Wasted

The Rejuven8 is a pretty interesting concept that we wouldn′t mind having in our homes if it ever becomes a reality sometime in the future. It’s designed to be able to provide users with useful information such as recipe and health tips via its built-in LCD display. The device is able to connect wirelessly to the other products in your home in order to collect additional data to provide more information. More interestingly, the Rejuveє is able to recycle the nutrients from your food waste, so all you have to do is dump in the leftovers, and the usable materials will be reconstructed into nutrients and minerals which will be sprayed on the food that you will eat in the future (apparently with no additional weird taste).
