LG Optimus One and Optimus Chic shows up

Both the LG Optimus One (as seen above) and Optimus Chic have surfaced yet again in a series of spy shots, and both of them will be powered by the Android operating system - although nothing important like a comprehensive specifications list, price or availability were made known to public. The LG Optimus One might be known as the P500 in certain circles, and we’re comforted to know that Android 2.2 Froyo comes bundled with it to keep up with the times. 3G and Wi-Fi connectivity will help you keep in touch with family and friends, while a 3-megapixel camera helps capture memories on the go - albeit this one lacks flash.

Verizon Wireless will be making available its prepaid 3G data packages to the masses from September 28th onwards, where they comprise of two plans - one for multimedia-capable handsets while the other will target not only multimedia handsets but smartphones as well. The first plan will cost $10 monthly with just 25MB of data use, while any overage will by pretty painful on your pockets at $0.20 per MB. As for the other plan, it is much more favorable for heavy data users despite its $30 monthly fee since the plan is supposedly ‘unlimited’ - but we await how Verizon describes that criteria.

Virtual keyboard leak leads to suspension of webOS developer approvals

Palm has decided to stop all webOS developer approvals after realizing that there was a virtual keyboard leak, marking the second time a keyboard was seen in webOS code. The latest leak that gave the game away was the parameter VirtualKeyboardEnabled=False, where changing the value to True could show just what Palm has up their sleeves down the road despite not invoking any reaction from a webOS-powered device at press time. Some people might speculate that this keyboard will make its mark on the mysterious webOS tablet alongside future smartphones if HP decides to go ahead.

Sharp 3D Phone At IFA

Sharp will be showcasing a new cellphone at the IFA that will feature a glasses-free 3D phone that sports a camera that is capable of shooting 3D images too. The 3D images are captured thanks to the inclusion of two lenses. The glasses-free experience is due to the use of a lenticular lens, similar to that Nintendo’s 3DS uses. The phone is currently still a concept, but Sharp spokespeople claim that it could be out this year.
