The TAG Heuer Meridiist line of cell phones have always been crazy expensive despite not being at the cutting edge of technology, simply because it rides more on the pretigious brand name of a luxury piece of tech instead of a functional one. The TAG Heuer Meridiist GMT follows in its predecessor’s footsteps, where its only new feature would be its ability to keep track of Greenwich Mean Time. This allows you to switch between home time and destination time in a flash, making sure that while you’re frolicking away at Monte Carlo with your mates, you will be aware of what time is it back home to comfort a lonely wife. TAG Heuer claims to include the GMT feature in future devices that retail for at least $4,000…

Mobiado is back with another millionaire-friendly phone - the Classic 712GCB. This handset is touted to be an “expression of mechanical perfection, mastering of aesthetic details, and the integrity of consistent craftsmanship.” When going through the specifications list, it is not too far away from the Classic 712ZAF, featuring a candybar form factor accompanied by a 2.2″ QVGA display, 3G connectivity, GPS support, a web browser, music player and a 5-megapixel camera with flash. Made from stainless steel, it will also have a touch of luxury with large sapphire crystal plates and 24K gold wrapping its exterior. Heck, even the handset’s keys are also made out of sapphire crystal hand-painted with gold. No idea on pricing, but this is a classic case of “if you have to ask…”

This is a weird piece of tech news - a coffin isn’t exactly a gizmo by any means as it houses a corpse, but what happens when you throw in a cellphone capability? Well, this Midas-touched gold coffin is on sale at $381,000, where it comes with a cellphone. Guess when you have that much money to throw around, there is always the fear of being pronounced dead accidentally only to have someone else receive your inheritance prematurely. Perhaps that is the reason why this blinged up coffin holds a cellphone, but what kind of SIM card will it hold, and is the battery already powered up? It would be a waste to be cremated in this thing though.

Fujitsu has teamed up with Greek jewelry retailer Folli Follie to roll out a special version of its F-02B cellphone, dubbing it the Folli Follie Gold. Needless to say, this is meant for those who want to be at the center of attention most of the time, sporting a 2-karat cubic zirconia alongside a pinkish gold tinge overall for that warm glow when you glance at its way. Apart from that, booting up the phone will see a Folli Follie welcome screen show up alongside the famous orange logo. Being part of the F-028 Style series mean this handset is both water-resistant and dust-resistant, and you can choose from black, white and pink colors.Folli Follie Gold cellphone

We now have more confirmation on the release of Samsung’s female-centric Diva Collection of cellphones, and ̫ means a January release for folks living in the UK, France, Germany and other European countries. Shortly after the European release, expect similar launches in South East Asia and China. Pricing details have yet to be determined, but you can refer to our earlier post for context on its specifications. Personally, we wonder why there must be a distinct difference in design between the genders where cellphones are concerned. After all, if you were to take a look at things objectively, having the best functionality at a decent price point would be the sweet spot for everyone, whether they wear pants or skirts.

Samsung has made its presence known at the Millionaire Fair 2009 in Netherlands, unveiling the limited edition S9110 watch phone where there are only 100 units of it available. In terms of specifications, everything remains the same, although your 999 Euros will come with its own number, a Bluetooth headset and a handmade watch box. What’s a thousand Euros to millionaires, eh?

Remember the Vertu V Collection which we covered earlier? Well, we now have pricing for those super luxurious accessories, where the Vertu V Bluetooth Headset is going for a (take a deep breath now) $730, giving you something made from stainless steel and high quality resin, coupled with a scratch resistant material with the option for you to hand polish it from time to time to maintain its lustre. As for the $490 Vertu V Memory Card Reader, don’t let us hear you complain about those weird Japanese card readers being so expensive from an import store any more, eh? Last but not least, we don’t think dropping $330 for a Vertu V Ballpoint Pen is well worth the price, even though it has a perfectly tuned twist mechanism to make it ergonomically balanced (like other pens which cost a couple of bucks, eh?).

You might not have the Midas touch to turn everything into gold whenever you come into contact with them, but you could very well bring home this gold plated Ṕ for $4,999, making this the showcase piece in any living room. It does make me wonder where I can purchase an additional (and equally luxurious) controller unless flying solo is the direction of this gold Ṕ.
