Sony DPP-F700 digital photo frame

The Sony DPP-𑐬 digital photo frame is no ordinary digital photo frame - in fact, it will come with a built-in printer that can print out your favorite image that you see instantly, letting you hang freshly printed out copies on the wall. Features include a 7″ display at 800 x 480 resolution in a 16:10 aspect ratio, accompanied by 1GB internal memory and the option of viewing the time/date in up to 21 different templates. No idea on just how much ink this consumes, but it definitely is a novel idea and remains to be seen whether it is able to hit the mainstream market or not considering digital photo frames aren′t exactly must have purchases for 2009.

Belkin Conserve Surge with Timer power bar

Belkin just unveiled its Conserve Surge with Timer power bar that boasts an integrated timer which will eliminate power draw whenever an office workstation has been left idle. While it is meant for the office, that doesn’t mean it cannot be used elsewhere to help reduce IT energy costs due to computers running on standby mode. Apart from that, it can be applied to other related devices including printers, lamps, speakers, scanners and other accessories. The Conserve Surge with Timer will feature a half dozen auto off outlets which can be controlled by the timer, where a couple of outlets will remain powered all the time. These six timed outlets can be turned on or off, where the power supply will be cut off 11 hours. A blinking LED light will offer appropriate warning before the supply of juice is disconnected. Expect the Belkin Conserve Surge with Timer to come at a wallet-friendly price of $35.

FCC approves HP ENVY notebooks

The FCC has just given their nod of approval to the new HP ENVY line of notebooks, where it does bear a striking resemblance to Apple’s top-of-the-line MacBook Pro notebook. The 13″ model will come with the latest Intel Core i7 processor, coupled with a 1GB Radeon HD 4830 graphics card and enough space for a couple of SSD drives. You will find that the touchpad is made out of glass, whereas the keypad will feature plastic keys - something users of Macs will be familiar with. Expect the HP ENVY to feature a 6-cell battery in a slim design, alongside a footprint that is as long and wide as the ENVY itself. Nice to know this battery is removable, although a rather similar outlook as the MacBook does lend an air of it being a clone.
