Klipsch recently rolled out its Image S2m earbuds that will be a lower-end version of the S4i, although it ought to sound a whole lot better compared to any stock earbuds that come with your latest portable media player purchase. The Image S2m will feature a universal in-line mic and remote for added flexibility, where the controls were specially optimized for Apple devices. As long as you use 2008 and later iPhones and iPods, it ought to play nice without running into any compatibility problems. Oval eartips have been included with each purchase of the Image S2m so that it will fit your ear canals in a much more comfortable manner compared to circle-shaped ones that its competitors offer. Expect to pick up the Image S2m for $60 thereabours when it is released next month.

On the other end of the spectrum is Samsung who goes on the offensive in China by kicking off the 3G marketing initiative known as “3GSamsung, 3G for all” at JuYong, Great Wall in China, where the Korean consumer electronics giant is tipped to release 30 (!) 3G cellphone models in the coming year. Guess this goes to show just how confident Samsung is on the world’s economy making a rapid recovery, especially in that part of the world if the market is supposed to be mature enough to absorb another 30 3G-enabled handsets apart from the numerous others already available. Interestingly enough, the word 3GSamsung does play around with the “3G S” bit on the latest iPhone…what do you think of this campaign?

While the Nokia 5800i has received official nods of approval from the FCC, you might want to put the champagne in the cooler just yet since this handset will be making its way to China Unicom first, thanks to its support of WCDMA 900/2100MHz and quad-band GSM/GPRS/EDGE bands. Apart from that, the label itself is in Chinese, which goes to say a whole lot. The 5800i will come with Wi-Fi connectivity for the curious, and it remains to be seen whether this model carries the capacitive touchscreen 5800’s hardware refresh that made its way round the Internet’s rumor mills a couple months back. What do you think?

Looks like Samsung is about to expand their universe with yet another Galaxy - also nicknamed the Galaxy Lite, in the form of the Samsung i5700. This handset recently picked up its Wi-Fi certification, where it will probably be a less capable version of the Samsung Galaxy. Perhaps it might even lack 3G connectivity to help it cater to emerging markets, but until the real deal makes an appearance or Samsung uncorks a new press release concerning the i5700, we’ll just have to deal with speculations on its specifications.

Verizon Wireless will be offering the Samsung U960 later next month - on the 15th of August, to be exact. It will be pretty similar to the U940 Glyde, which places it squarely in the mid-range slider market segment. It will feature GPS navigation support, EV-DO connectivity and a 3-megapixel camera - apart from that, nothing else about the Samsung U960 can be confirmed so we’ll just have to wait until the launch date draws closer for further details.

Lomo fans, heads up! There is a new LC-A+ 25th Anniversary Edition Camera which is pretty much self explanatory, commemorating a quarter of century of existence on this earth with the Lomo LC-A+ 25th Year Anniversary emblem stamped on both front and back of the camera. It will come equipped with the legendary Minitar 1 lens, multi-exposure switch and multiple accessory capabilities, all crammed into one memorable wooden box. There is no word on pricing though, but regardless of its cost, real collectors ought to purchase a couple of these per head - one to store, unopened, while the other is meant to be used.

Looks as though the blind need not be left out of the digital revolution with the concept known as the Visionplus. This unique stick will interact with the user via audio as well as tactile methods through the stick itself, where it functions in tandem with RFID tag technology. The stick will bookmark specific locations while providing its user with critical information. It can be controlled using but a single hand, making it go one up on its predecessors across several aspects including mobility, usability and safety.

Apple isn’t going to sit down and do nothing as they are widely expected to release a fix for the exploit via iTunes sometime tomorrow. News of this patch came about from a spokesperson for O2, although it remains to be seen whether the patch would be available for all iPhone users around the world or just those who are residing in the UK. The exploit will also take advantage of Google Android and Windows Mobile handsets, although Google has already been reported to take relevant steps in fixing the security hole. Seems that the smarter phones get, the more vulnerable they are to outside attacks. Remember the good old days of dumb phones when they worked as advertised without any external threats?
